Housing Conditions

We act for Tenants of Housing Associations and Local Authorities who have been complaining about poor living conditions but the Landlord is doing nothing to rectify the problems.

It is not acceptable for anyone to live in an unhealthy environment. The law gives rights to Tenants to ensure that this does not happen, but many Landlords are allowing Tenants to live in appalling homes.

If you are living in a rented home that is not fit for human habitation due to leaks, damp, mould, faulty electrics, faulty plumbing or heating, vermin infestation and you have reported to your Landlord without it being rectified, then you may have a claim.

The aim of a claim like this is to force your Landlord to fix the problems and to obtain compensation for the time that you have been living in these conditions. Remember though, the Landlord must have been notified by you and have failed to act on your report of the problems within a reasonable time.

If you believe that you have been living in unsuitable conditions in your Housing Association or Local Authority home, apply for free initial advice by clicking “Claim Now”.
